Economical Plum Pudding
Ingredients
1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1 cup CSR White Sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup hot water
2 cups mixed fruit
1 cup plain flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon each of cinnamon & nutmeg
Method
Put breadcrumbs, sugar and butter into a basin and pour over hot water. Leave this for about 5 mins, and then add mixed fruit.
Sift together plain flour, baking soda, nutmeg and cinnamon. Add this to other ingredients.
Turn into a well greased pudding basin, with firm fitting lid.
Boil for about 2 hours.

Very simple to make, economical as the name suggests. Really nice served with the usual cream or custard.
