Eggless Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
125g Butter
1 cup Milk
2 tablespoons CSR Golden Syrup
1 level teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups Flour
2 tablespoons Cocoa
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
3/4 cup CSR White Sugar
Method
In a saucepan melt on a very low heat butter, Golden Syrup and milk.
In a bowl sift flour, cocoa, baking powder and sugar. Make a well in the centre.
When the butter is melted stir in baking soda and quickly add mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
Pour mixture into a buttered and floured ring tin and bake at 180oC for 20 minutes.
Stand in tin for a few minutes and turn out onto a wire rack. Ice with chocolate icing when cool.
