Bread And Butter Custard
Ingredients
4 Eggs
1/2 Cup CSR White Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
2 1/2 Cups Milk
3 Thick Slices Fruit Loaf Bread
60g Butter
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
Method
1 : Place eggs, CSR White Sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl and beat for 1 min.
2 : Whisk in milk then pour into a greased 1.5 litre capacity ovenproof casserole dish.
3 : Spread both sides of fruit loaf bread slices with butter, cut into quarters and place on top of custard.
4 : Sprinkle with nutmeg, stand dish in a baking tray of water and bake at 150oC for 1 1/2 hours.
