Turkish Delight

Ingredients

2 Cups Water
4 Cups CSR White Sugar
4 Tablespoons Cornflour
6 Tablespoons White Grape Juice
2 Teaspoons Rose Water
1 Tablespoon finely chopped Pistachio Nuts
A few drops Red Food Colouring
CSR Caster Sugar or CSR Soft Icing Mixture (or for a change try coconut)

Method

1 : Boil the water and CSR White Sugar together for about 20 mins., stirring only until the sugar is dissolved.
2 : Mix the cornflour with the grape juice and add it gradually to the syrup, stirring constantly. Boil until very thick.
3 : Remove the pan from the heat and add the rose water, nuts and food colouring. Pour the mixture into a shallow well
greased tray and let cool.
4 : When set, cut into squares with a sharp knife. Roll the pieces in CSR Caster Sugar or CSR Soft Icing Mixture.
Serve in paper cases or piled on a doily in a glass dish.
