Greek Almond Shortbread Biscuits
Ingredients
2 cups Butter
2 Egg Yolks
1/2 cup CSR White Sugar
5 cups Self Raising Flour
2 Vanilla Sticks, powdered
1/2 cup Ouzo
1/2 to 3/4 Kilograms of CSR Soft Icing Mixture
Small amount of Rose Water
1 cup Slivered Almonds
Method
- Beat Butter to a cream in a bowl. Add Egg Yolks and CSR White Sugar,
continue beating.
- Sift the flour with vanilla.
- Pour the ouzo into the butter, gradually add the Flour with the Almonds.
- Knead the dough until soft and firm. Break into small flat balls, half moons
or any other shape desired.
- Place on baking tray and bake on medium heat for 15 - 20 minutes. After baking, sprinkle with rose water and dust generously with CSR Soft Icing Mixture.
