Orange French Toasts
Ingredients
5 Eggs
1/2 Cup CSR Caster Sugar
2 Tablespoons Orange Flower Water
3 Tablespoons Brandy
Grated rind of 1/2 Orange
5 or 6 Slices day-old Bread cut very thick (about 2cms)
Butter
extra CSR Caster Sugar
A Little Nutmeg
Method
1 : Remove crusts from the bread and cut in halves.
2 : Beat the eggs thoroughly and add theCSR Caster Sugar, orange flower water and brandy. Stir in the grated orange
rind.
3 : Soak the bread slices in the egg mixture. Lift out carefully and brown gently each side in a little butter in a heavy pan.
Serve the toasts very hot, sprinkled with CSR Caster Sugar and nutmeg.
